A recent survey in the UK has unveiled some interesting insights into public beliefs about aliens. Surprisingly, one in ten people across the country believes in the existence of a secret alien base hidden by the UK government.
According to the survey, believers speculate that these aliens not only exist but also go out in disguise to shop and even visit liquor stores. People in Belfast have emerged as the biggest alien conspiracy theorists, with 21 per cent of them believing that someone is lurking.
Generation Z (people aged 18 to 26) are the biggest believers, with 15 per cent of them believing that someone exists. Another 10 per cent of millennials, aged 27 to 42, said the same. Another 7 per cent of baby boomers, aged 59 and above, said they also believed a secret alien colony existed in the UK.
Bingo site MrQ asked 2,000 UK adults which conspiracy theories they believed in to reveal the results. A senior marketing executive, Rosie Maskell, commented on the findings and said, “Delving into the world of conspiracy theories is certainly an eye-opener, with a huge number of people believing in a secret alien colony. All we can say for sure is that the truth is out there.”
After Belfast, people in Liverpool are the second-biggest believers in a secret UK colony. The survey found that 14 per cent of the people think it is true, followed by 12 per cent from Cardiff, 13 per cent from Sheffield and Birmingham, and 11 per cent from Manchester and Southampton.
Londoners and Leeds share a similar belief with 9 per cent. Overall, 12 per cent of those asked said they think the Apollo moon landings were faked by the US and another 13 per cent believe British authorities had a hand in Princess Diana’s death.
