One iPhone Feature That Tim Cook Was Unaware Of Despite Being Apple CEO
When he met Ben Cohen the next time, Tim Cook revealed that he had named the group chat with his college roommates– “Roommates”.

Apple CEO Tim Cook was left confused when he was asked about the group chat feature on iPhone. As the boss of one of the biggest tech companies, Tim Cook was expected to know every trick and feature of the device. He, however, had yet to learn that people would choose a unique name for group chats available on iMessage. Cook recently sat with Wall Street Journal’s Ben Cohen for an interview where he talked about how things work at Apple. He also discussed his responsibilities as the head of the company in the day-to-day operations.

At one point during the conversation, Tim Cook encountered a bunch of rapid-fire questions, one of which was about iMessage. Cohen asked the Apple chief what could be the best name for a group chat. It seemed like a new topic for the Apple boss. “He (Cook) looked at me like I’d asked him to recommend the best Android phone,” Cohen recalled, as reported by Hindustan Times. Tim Cook then honestly replied, “The best—name? I don’t name them. Do you name yours? Interesting. I may take that on.”

The Apple CEO might have taken the suggestion quite seriously. When he met Cohen again, Tim Cook revealed that he had named the group chat with his college roommates– “Roommates”.

During the interaction, Cook further opened up about his daily routine. After leaving bed at 4 AM every morning, he first goes through all the emails and notifications received on his iPhone. Once it’s done, Cook shifts his focus to daily workouts which he can track with his Apple Watch. He also spends some time listening to classic rock through his AirPods. “He reads emails, reviews overnight sales reports and studies countries where numbers are changing to keep his finger on the pulse of the business,” Cook’s profile read.

Speaking about how he sets the agenda of his company, Cook told Cohen, “The key for us is focus. Saying no to really, really good ideas so you can make room for the great ones. The innovation is being able to craft the right product that you could deliver in a great way at the time.”

Tim Cook uses almost every Apple product on a daily basis. When travelling on the road, the Apple CEO prefers to work on iPad Pro. But in the office, he mostly works on MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and iMac.
