It is common knowledge that dogs are extremely smart pets. When trained as service dogs, they can help people with medical issues, navigate the world and alert emergency services when the need arises. Now, a video is going viral that shows a pet dog getting alerted to a fire breaking out in the house, and immediately stopping it from spreading. The CCTV footage shows a dog relaxing on a cot when it observes an extension cord breaking into flames. The dog jumps to the source of the short circuit and pulls away the extension cord, hence stopping the fire from spreading. Interestingly, the dog appears unharmed even after dragging away the inflamed extension cord. The pooch later returns to the same cot to relax.

This clip has so far gathered over 13,000 likes and 9 lakh views since it was posted on February 15 on X. In the comments, many people praised the dog’s alert actions.
