One can find luck in unexpected ways. A boy who once picked up a simple object from the trash in his childhood has now become wealthy from it.
An 11-year-old child in England discovered a painting from the trash that looked quite simple. According to the Daily Star, the child identified as Matt Winter saw a woman throwing away a garbage bag filled with black-and-white waste paper. Winter, who is a resident of Cranbrook in England’s Kent asked if he could take it, and she agreed. Matt kept one of the items, an engraved painting titled “Knight, Death and the Devil,” without realizing its real value.
The painting, once considered garbage 13 years ago, is now valued at lakhs. Matt Winter, now 24, discovered that the painting he kept is by the renowned German artist Albrecht Dürer.
The painting, created in 1513 during the Renaissance, is now being auctioned by Rare Book Auctions with a starting price of at least Rs 22 lakh. Jim, the director of Rare Book Auctions, confirmed its authenticity, stating that only Dürer could have painted it. The auction is scheduled for September 18.
