to divide the country.
Washington: US President Barack Obama urged Americans on the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks to embrace the nation's diversity and not to allow "terrorists"
to divide the country.
"Our diversity, our patchwork heritage, is not a weakness. It is still and always will be one of our greatest strengths," Obama said at a remembrance service at the Pentagon, one of
the sites attacked on 9/11.
"This is the America that was attacked that September morning. This is the America that we must remain true to."
President Barack Obama said that the nation will never forget the lives of those killed in the 9/11 attacks.
He said that he is inspired by the resilience of the victims' families. He quoted Scripture: "Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the table of your heart."
Obama praised America's diversity and urged Americans not to let their enemies divide them. He called the day "difficult" but one that "reveals the love and faithfulness in your hearts and in the heart of our nation."
