US Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday released a video lashing out at her rival and Donald Trump’s running mate JD Vance. In her video she said that the bestselling author of Hillbilly Elegy fame will be ‘loyal only to Trump, not to our country’.

“Donald Trump has picked his new running mate: JD Vance. He will be loyal only to Trump, not to our country,” Kamala Harris said, captioning a video message that she posted on her X page.
“If elected, he will help implement the extreme Project 2025 plan for a second Trump term. We’re not going to let that happen,” he further added.
Kamala compared Vance to her predecessor Mike Pence and said unlike Pence, Vance would have helped Trump overturn the results of the 2020 elections.
In February, while seeking Trump’s endorsement, Vance stated that he would have used the vice president’s role in overseeing the electoral count to recognize Trump electors from states that Trump did not win. He believed Congress should have debated the election results, which he claimed had significant issues, according to a report by the Washington Post.
She also highlighted that Vance supports a national abortion ban and is against IVF and warned that he will implement Project 2025.
News agency AFP in a report described Project 2025 as a sweeping blueprint from the hard-right Heritage Foundation to remake the federal government in Trump’s image and said that it has been characterised by opponents as an authoritarian, right-wing wish list.
Its 887-page “Mandate for Leadership” sets out how to replace thousands of federal workers with ultra-conservative loyalists should Trump prevail against Democratic President Joe Biden in November.
It calls for a makeover of almost every function of the federal government, reshaping its numerous agencies to centralize power in the White House and push policy to the right on everything from abortion to immigration.
“We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the Left allows it to be,” Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts said in early July, adding: “We’re in the process of taking this country back.”
Trump has sought to distance himself from Project 2025, claiming to “know nothing” about the project or the figures behind it, as Roberts’ remarks provoked a firestorm of outrage.
“I have not seen it, have no idea who is in charge of it, and, unlike our very well received Republican Platform, had nothing to do with it,” he posted on Truth Social.
