US: Teen Rapper Accidentally Shoots Self Dead While Filming Video on Social Media

A 17-year-old rapper in the US accidentally shot himself dead while filming a video on social media. In the video, he points the gun at his head and pulls the trigger.

According to a report published in New York Post, the teenager was found dead at his home in Suffolk, Virginia, on May 15. While the police did not confirm his name, the account under which the video was posted and his Instagram handle shows that he was known as rapper Rylo Huncho. He was rushed to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he later died.

The police confirmed the teenager’s death and said he died by an “accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound” to the head. There is separate footage circulating on social media showing him singing into a camera while dancing with a pistol with a green laser sight.

The New York Post report said the boy appeared to have switched off the weapon’s safety and point it at his head, but a gunshot was heard and he was thrown from view as the camera dropped.

The report further said A GoFundMe campaign with a target of $15,000 was set up for the rapper’s grieving mother. A cousin was quoted as saying in a post for the campaign: “He was her only son! She was a single parent but took care of her son the best she could. Suicide/accidental was the cause of his death we are still trying to figure out why. But anything I mean anything can help her at this time of need. It was always her and her son.”

The video went viral last week, but according to a number of comments on his social media and his Instagram page, many believed it to be fake. Many speculated by asking how the video got posted on social media in the first place if the rapper was already dead. His death was later confirmed by his friend on Facebook.
