Saraswati Avahan is a special ritual performed during Sharad Navratri where devotees start to worship Goddess Saraswati. Saraswati Avahan 2023: Shubh Muhurat, Puja Vidhi

1. The Saraswati Avahan puja will start on Friday, October 20 and the rituals should be performed in the auspicious time allotted for it.
2. The best time for Avahan is: Mula Nakshatra Avahan Muhurat: 06:25 am to 08:52 am (Duration: 02 Hours 28 Mins).
3. A mantra is recited to invoke Goddess Saraswati’s blessings, and the followers seek her guidance.
4. A practice of washing the feet of Goddess Saraswati is done as part of the puja, which is followed by a “sankalpam.”
5. The goddess’s idol is then embellished with kumkum and chandan, and then a ritual known as “alankaram” is performed.
6. Flowers and incense sticks are often offered to the deity.
7. Special bhog offerings are made to the goddess on the occasion of Saraswati Avahan. Because white is her preferred colour, all savoury foods and sweets are made with this colour.
8. Following the completion of the puja, the offerings are distributed to all devotees present for the puja. After that, bhajans are sung to appease the goddess.
9. On the eve of Saraswati Avahan, some devotees also observe a fast.

Saraswati Avahan 2023: Significance
