Overall, the top 10 cars sold in July 2017 managed a good cumulative 1.5 lakh unit sales. Here’s a complete list of the Top 10 cars sold in the month of July 2017!

Last month in June, we saw a massive drop in the car sales, owing to the uncertainty over the GST. Now that the GST is here, manufacturers and customers, both have got a clear idea of the new unified tax regime. The markets have bounced back to the normal now and Maruti alone managed to sell over 1.5 lakh vehicles in the month of July 2017. The India’s biggest carmaker also dominated the top 10 car list with seven of its models in the chart, while the rest of the three spots were occupied by Hyundai models.

In the hindsight, cars like Hyundai Grand i10, which entered the top 3 selling cars in June, again slipped below, while the Maruti Suzuki Alto continues to rule the rooster, with a bounce back in the sales numbers. Cars like Vitara Brezza experienced a 20% sales hike in the last month. Overall, the top 10 cars managed a good 1.5 lakh unit sales. So here’s a complete list of the Top 10 cars sold in the month of July 2017!

Maruti Suzuki Alto 

Maruti Suzuki Alto has bounced back in the July 2017 sales and how! The single-largest selling car in India, Alto, touched a new high with 26,009 units, while it was also the worse hit car in the June 2017 sales. The entry-level hatchback managed to sell only 14,856 units in June 2017 and has doubled the sales in July.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno 

Maruti Suzuki Baleno, which was earlier sitting at the 5h spot, has gained 3 spots to become the runner-up in the top 10 list. Baleno managed to attract 19,153 customers in July 2017, as against 9057 units in June 2017. It also marks the highest ever sales by Baleno in a single month.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R

Sitting at the 3rd spot in the May 2017 sales data, the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R slipped to the 4th spot in the June 2017 and now is back in the 3rd spot with 16,301 units sold in July 2017. In June 2017, though, Wagon R only got 10,668 buyers.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza 

Yet another Maruti on the list, the Vitara Brezza is the only SUV on sale from the largest selling brand in India and is doing constantly good in terms of the sales for the past few months. While Maruti sold only 8,293 cars last month, they managed to sell 15,243 units in July 2017. This is also the highest ever sales of Brezza in a single month, almost 205 more than its previous highest sales.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire 

The latest generation Dzire is constantly gaining on customers and got 14,703 buyers in the month of July 2017, which happens to be the highest for the compact sedan. Launched in May 2017, the Dzire managed to sell 14,703 units in June 2017.

Maruti Suzuki Swift 

The Maruti Suzuki Swift took a major hit last month due to the GST and its sales fell below 10,000 units (9008 to be precise) for the first time in a long while. The Swift hatchback is back again with monthly sales of 13,738 units in July 2017.

Hyundai Grand i10 

The first non-Maruti on the list is the Hyundai’s highly successful Grand i10 hatchback. Although it suffered a 5 place drop from 2nd spot to 7th spot, its sales remained almost intact, with a fall of 300 odd units. Hyundai managed to sell 12,002 units of Grand i10 hatchback as against 12,317 units in June 2017.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio

One may think that Maruti Suzuki Celerio is a non-performer, but numbers speak otherwise. Entering the list of top 10 selling cars, Maruti managed to sell 11,087 units of Celerio in July 2017. The last time Celerio entered the top 10 list was in April 2017, with sales of 8,425 units.

Hyundai Creta

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza’s close competitor in the compact SUV segment, Hyundai Creta dropped a position down to feature at the 9th position as against the 8th spot in June 2017. Creta managed to attract 10,556 buyers in July 2017 as compared to 6436 units in June 2017.

Hyundai Elite i20

Last on our list is the premium hatchback offering from Hyundai Motors – the Elite i20. While the Elite i20 didn’t feature in the top 10 of June 2017, it is back in the list with a little over 10000 units sold in July 2017. In May 2017 too, Elite i20 was in the top 10 list with 10,667 units.
