Amid long-standing demands to build an airport in Bihar’s Purnia, with the cooperation of the state government and the district administration, all obstacles in the way of constructing the airport have finally been cleared.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) team from Delhi recently surveyed the site and addressed all issues. Purnia District Magistrate Kundan Kumar said that all obstacles in the construction of the Purnia Airport have been resolved.
He stated that there are no current issues preventing the construction. The site survey has begun and the AAI team from Delhi conducted a technical survey of the acquired land, collecting around 3,000 data points.
The survey included a detailed examination of the entire land, including latitude, longitude, and elevation, using drones and Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS). The survey team also performed contour mapping and topographic work.
District Magistrate Kumar said that a meeting was held with the concerned officials following the visit of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to Purnia. Based on the Chief Minister’s instructions, all issues related to the airport construction have been resolved.
According to AAI, 52.18 acres of land in Goasi village has been acquired for the Purnia Airport following the technical survey.
