Just a few days away from the launch of Citroen's first car C5 Aircross flagship SUV in India, the Citroen C3 Aircross prototype has been spotted in the country during a test run in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The C3 Aircross is expected to be the next car offered by the company in India, either by the end of this year or early next year. Talking about the length of the car, the international-spec model of the car, which has been reportedly codenamed CC21, measures over 4 metres in length. However, the one which will arrive here will be comparatively smaller.

On observing the image of the C3 Aircross, which is going viral on the internet, one can notice the white coloured SUV features the trademark Citroen grille, split headlamp set up, LED DRLs, black-coloured ORVMs, square wheel arches, body-coloured door handles and dual-tone bumper, among others.

The upcoming Citroen cars in India will be offered to the public in both the combinations that are petrol as well as diesel engine options, as per the information provided by the company earlier. The new compact SUV with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine will produce 100 PS of max power and a peak torque output of 150 Nm. The model will also be offered with a manual gearbox as well as an automatic transmission.

Talking about the price of the vehicle, the CC21 is expected to begin with a price range of Rs 5 lakh ex-showroom. The vehicle is also expected to compete with the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and Kia Sonet.

The company has plans to produce about 2.4 lakh cars in India over the next five years. The company will also be focusing on export operations of all its locally produced vehicles.
