Gurugram Metro: Two New Routes Approved, Full Details Inside
Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) is advancing the 28.5 km Metro extension from Millennium City Centre to Cyber Hub.

Gurugram’s Metro network is set for a major upgrade with the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) giving the green light to two new Metro routes.

This move aims to enhance connectivity in the city, linking densely populated areas with key business hubs.

The new routes, approved during HMRTC’s 57th board meeting in Chandigarh, are:

  • Bhondsi Village to Gurugram Railway Station – A 17km stretch running through Vatika Chowk, Subash Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, Sadar Bazar, and the Gurugram bus stand. It will also connect with the Delhi-Gurugram-Alwar RRTS line at Rajiv Chowk and the Metro extension from Millennium City Centre.
  • Golf Course Extension Road to Sector 5 – A 13km route with stops at Millennium City Centre, Signature Tower crossing, Rana Pratap Chowk, and Atul Kataria Chowk, running along Sheetla Mata Road.

According to the Hindustan Times, HMRTC will soon hire consultants to draft detailed reports for these projects. According to Yash Sachdeva, adviser (mobility) at the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), these routes are a crucial part of the plan to expand the Metro network across Gurugram by 2031.

The new routes aim to cover the city’s most populated areas and important business districts, providing a significant boost to public transport. Meanwhile, the Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) is progressing with a 28.5km extension project from Millennium City Centre to Cyber Hub, further expanding the city’s Metro reach.
