In a major development, Japanese automotive giant Honda has unveiled a series of new safety features for its Elevate, City and Amaze models.
These include additions of airbags, Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seat belts and a seatbelt reminder system among other features. Honda has also included some premium features to enhance the driving experience, thus leading to a revision in its pricing structure. as reported by Motorbeam.
Notably, these upgrades have been brought in to bolster safety upgrades and further provide customers with added comfort and ease of travel on the road.
Honda Elevate And City Get Safety Features
One of the most significant upgrades is the inclusion of six airbags, three-point Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seat belts and a seatbelt reminder system for all occupants across variants of the Honda Elevate and City SUVs.
Besides that, the Elevate now also boosts other additional features like adjustable head restraints for all passengers, driver and co-driver vanity mirrors along with a digi-analogue instrument cluster with a 7-inch TFT display.
On the other hand, the City has also received a new 4.2-inch TFT display for the instrument cluster on the base SV variant, along with an 8-speaker premium sound system and a rear sunshade on the VX trim.
With these enhancements, the prices have also hiked for both the City and Elevate models. While the Honda Elevate is now priced at roughly Rs 11-16 lakh (ex-showroom), the Honda City is priced at roughly Rs 12-16 lakh (ex-showroom).
Upgrade To Honda Amaze And e:HEV Models
On the other hand, other Honda models, including the Amaze and e:HEV have also received a few upgrades in terms of their safety features. Both models will have seat belt reminders for all five seats as standard.
However, there are no mechanical changes to the vehicles. The Honda Amaze and e:HEV models are now priced at roughly Rs 7–9 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
Notably, these features have been introduced with regard to an elevated level of protection for discerning customers.
Speaking on the same, Takuya Tsumura, President and CEO of Honda Cars India, underscored the brand’s dedication toward its global vision of “zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda vehicles” and its overarching principle of “Safety For Everyone.” The company also states that the improvements will align with its vision of achieving zero traffic collision fatalities globally by 2050.
