In a move to clear all the confusion, and make it more clear to the commuters in identifying the platforms, the Central Railway’s Dadar station is all set to have a new numbering system. It has been reported that the stations, that offer interchange services and Western Railway (WR) travel, will be known as 8 to 14 instead 1 to 8.
However, the new numbering system initiative will affect the Central Railway platform numbers only. While Western Railway platforms will continue to be numbered as they are.
Dadar Railway Station new numbering system
The new numbering system initiative will kickstart on December 9. Expressing views about the same, officials says the decision has been taken to reduce chaos, confusion, and provide better clarity about stations among people, who travel on the Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway (WR).
Official’s Statement
He said, “All preparatory work, including changes in platform indicators, is set to be completed by midnight on December 8, with the new platform numbering system taking effect from December 9.”
Dadar Station Platforms
Dadar Station is one of the important intersections, which facilitates around 900 Central Railway trains and 1,050 Western Railway trains on a daily basis. Reports say overall almost 5 lakh people visit Dadar station in the CR.
It manages 50 percent of the 226 fast trains, which head to Kalyan. Apart from this, platform 4 is home to 25 long-distance trains. While platforms 1-2 manage almost 240 sluggish services.
