The McLaren 675LT Coupe was revealed earlier this year as a more extreme version of the already outrageously quick 650S. Apparently all 500 were lapped up so quickly that McLaren has bowed to demand and released the drop top version of the 657LT – also limited to 500 units. Millionaires rejoice!
Aside from a 40kg weight gain thanks to the folding three-piece roof, the Spider more or less is the same car as the Coupe. That means a ludicrous 666PS at the rear wheels from the mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin turbo V8.
Performance is just as mind bending with a 2.8s run from 0-100kmph, 8.1s to 200kmph and a top speed of 327kmph, which is just 3kmph down on the hardtop. With an open roof, all that noise and power will only be even more terrifying.
Aside from the roof, the McLaren 675LT Spider also gets special optional 20-inch wheels, a new paint shade called Solis and special contrast stitching for the interiors. McLaren don’t sell cars in India but if they did, this monster would set you back by well over Rs 5 crore after our bloated taxes and duties.
