Hyundai has revealed the design sketch of its upcoming Alcazar SUV ahead of its launch on April 6. The Hyundai Alcazar will be based on the Hyundai Creta and will use the same platform, stretched to accommodate the bigger Alcazar SUV, and will be the 7-seater premium SUV from Hyundai. Hyundai Alcazar will make its global debut in India.

In terms of design, Alcazar’s front profile will be inspired by that of the Creta. However, there could be a different set of alloy wheels and tweaked tail lamps to set it apart from its younger sibling. The car’s rear overhang will be longer to accommodate an extra row of seats.

Hyundai is expected to offer the Alcazar in both 6-seater and 7-seater variants. While the 6-seater version will ship with captain seats in the middle row, the 7-seater version will have a bench setup. Talking about the creature comfort elements inside the cabin, the Alcazar will reportedly be equipped with an Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-ready touchscreen infotainment system, multi-zone automatic climate control, wireless charger, ventilated seats and panoramic sunroof, among others.

At its heart, the Alcazar will reportedly have the same engine and transmission options that we find in the Hyundai Creta. Which means we can expect three powertrain options including a 1.4-litre Kappa Turbo-GDi petrol with 140PS and 242Nm mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic, 1.5-litre MPi petrol delivering 115PS and 144Nm of torque with 6-speed MT/IVT automatic and 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel 115PS and 250Nm with 6-speed MT/6-speed AT.
