She has majorly worked in Tamil and Telugu cinema and over the years, she has solidified her position as a lead actress in South films. The actress entered the Hindi cinema with Atlee’s directorial Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan.
Nayanthara even ventured into production with her husband Vignesh Shivan in 2021 with Rowdy Pictures and this year, she launched her skincare brand 9Skin, sanitary napkin brand Femi9 and invested in superfoods brand The Divine Food.

Speaking to Business Today recently, Nayanthara shared that they do make money off the businesses but it has to make a positive difference to the people. While Shivan analyses the business opportunities, Nayanthara chips in to build the brand and contribute towards the look and feel of the products. “Vignesh and I are quite hands-on. Unless we approve something, it doesn’t go out,” she added.
Meanwhile, Nayanthara’s 75th film Annapoorani recently debuted on the big screen and it has been receiving mixed reviews from critics and viewers alike. The film is about her character Annapoorani’s passion for cooking, but eating or touching meat is frowned upon in her traditional Brahmin household. Annapoorani enrols herself into a hotel management school covertly and tells her family that she is pursuing an MBA while doing so. But it all changes after an accident happens inside the kitchen.
Nayanthara has a compelling lineup of films including Test, Thani Oruvan 2, Mannangatti Since 1960, Kannappa and more.
