Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser’s compensation rose 6 per cent year-on-year to $26 million. His salary included a base salary of $1.5 million and a cash bonus of $3.7 million as well as $20.8 million in deferred performance-linked stock.
In a company filing, Citigroup cited Fraser’s performance in executing the “most consequential set of changes to its organisational and management model since the 2008 financial crisis”.
The disclosure comes after the lender announced its plan to cut over 20,000 jobs in the next two years.
In the fourth quarter ended October-December, Citigroup reported its worst quarterly results in over a decade at $1.8 billion.
