Vijay Mallya says the merger of all his spirit cos will be completed by September and McDowell will change to United Spirits.

New Delhi: Chief of United Breweries Limited Vijay Mallya says that the merger of all spirit companies will be completed by September and McDowell will change to United Spirits and will be listed.

He also states that UB has completed the acquisition of McDowell-Scotland, while they have not bid for Fosters.

He adds that the merger of spirits companies is on track and they are looking at expanding their product base in Europe.

Mallya added the € 700 million bid, which was made to acquire Taittinger did not go through.

Aiming to become the world's number one liquor player, Vijay Mallya's United Breweries had made a bid for a part of Australian giant Foster's beer units in India and Vietnam.

According to sources, Mallya had bid for Foster's beer units in India and Vietnam, estimated at $234 million (Rs 1,053 crore).
