Mkts back in momentum, Sensex regains 15k level
After a 400 points nosedive, markets were back in momentum on Thursday.

New Delhi: After witnessing a 400 points nosedive, markets were back in momentum on Thursday as BSE Sensex traded higher despite volatility across Asian markets.

All the indices witnessed buying interest while cement, telecom, metal, oil, capital goods and banking stocks emerged toppers.

At 11:53 hours , the Sensex was up 155.53 points or 1.04 per cent at 15,091.30, and the Nifty up 44.00 points or 1.01 per cent at 4,389.85.

Markets breadth remained positive. ACC, Ambuja Cements, Reliance Communication and GSK Pharma were the top gainers while Tata Motors, HDFC Bank, Wipro, Hero Honda and Nalco top losers.

ACC has sold 1.64 million tonnes (MT) cement in July 2007 as against 1.43 MT in July 2006. The stock was up 4.1 per cent at 1,005.5 on BSE.

Hindustan Dorr-Oliver has bagged order worth Rs 70 crore from Bharat Oman Refineries. The share has surged 5 per cent at 113.75.

IFCI, Everonn Systems, HDIL, Reliance Industries and GMR Infrastructure are most active shares on the bourses.

Index heavyweight Reliance was trading at Rs 1,834.75 up 2.04% from its previous close of Rs 1,798. Refinery major HPCL was trading at Rs 249.20 up 1.57% from its previous close of Rs 245.35.
