Even as Narendra Modi prepares for his high-profile visit to the US, it is likely that Chinese President Xi Jinping may reach the country three days ahead of the Indian Prime Minister. Both leaders are leaving no stone unturned to woo tech firms in the United States.
While Modi will be in the US from September 23 to 28, Jinping will reach 3 days prior to him.
The Indian PM will be meeting the CEOs of Apple, Google and Facebook and Jinping will be visiting the Microsoft campus. Apple, Google and Facebook have certain issues with China's business policies.
During his upcoming visit to the United States, Prime Minister Modi will visit the Facebook headquarters at Menlo Park in San Francisco in USS on September 27. He will be addressing a townhall meeting as well as a question and answer session.
Bracing for his first visit to the US to hold talks with American counterpart Barack Obama, the Chinese President said the slowdown of China's economic growth is the result of the country's development pattern transformation and economic restructuring.
He added that the economy still has great potential and is capable of maintaining medium-to high-speed growth. He called on both sides to intensify macroeconomic policy coordination and work together to promote global economic growth.
He also suggested that trade and investment facilitation be pushed, and hoped the US business community would support China's reform and opening up.
