Actor Sivakumar Shares Apology Video For Throwing Away Fan's Gift At An Event

Veteran Tamil actor Sivakumar landed in a lot of trouble online for his shocking behaviour towards a fan. The actor was caught throwing away a gift presented to him by a fan at a recent event. Now, he has released an apology video for his unexpected behaviour amid the growing backlash on the matter.

The video showed an elderly fan approaching Sivakumar carrying a shawl with a smile on his face, but as he presented him with the gift, the actor was seen taking the shawl away from him and throwing it on the floor looking visibly irritated. As the clip was posted online, it garnered considerable criticism and disapproval from the netizens. Some even suggested that the actor should simply stop going to events.

As per new developments on the matter, Sivakumar has now released an apology video, in which he is seen with the elderly man who presented the actor with the shawl. In the video, Sivakumar states that since the show went on late, he was very tired. The elderly man and a friend of the actor identified as Karim, came to him with a shawl out of consideration for his well-being. The veteran actor admitted that it was a mistake on his part to act in such a way, and has apologised to the man. The incident happened at a book launch event in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu.

Back in 2018, Sivakumar was in the news for a similar incident, when he threw away the phone of a fan who was trying to take a selfie with the actor. He reportedly apologised for it later, even buying a new phone for the fan.

Sivakumar is an actor in Tamil cinema, having worked in the industry for more than five decades. Some of his notable works include films like Sindhu Bhairavi, Rosappu Ravikkaikari, Uyarndha Manithan, Saraswati Sabatham, and several others. He is the father of prominent South actors, Suriya and Karthi.
