Thalapathy Vijay’s latest action thriller, Leo, has become the fifth highest-grossing Indian film of 2023, receiving positive reviews from audiences. Amid this success, Vijay is actively engaged in the shooting of his next project, tentatively titled Thalapathy 68. Anticipation has been building around the film, and recently, renowned music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, set to score the music for the venture, shared a noteworthy update in a media interaction, further intensifying the buzz surrounding the much-anticipated movie.
In a recent interview, music director Yuvan Shankar Raja was asked whether we can expect Thalapathy 68 to have Mankatha background music. To this, Yuvan replied, ‘Definitely expect’.
Mankatha is the soundtrack album, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, for the 2011 film of the same name, directed by Venkat Prabhu. The movie featured Ajith Kumar in the lead role, along with an ensemble cast including Arjun, Trisha, Vaibhav, Lakshmi Rai, Andrea Jeremiah, Premgi, and Anjali in the supporting roles. The Mankatha soundtrack was described as a “mélange of techno, melody, a couple of duets, and a mass song”.
Apart from this, news is also going viral that Thalapathy 68 will also feature Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prasanth, Prabhu Deva, Jayaram, Yogi Babu, and Sneha playing major roles in the movie. Apart from them, there are also reports that Venkat Prabhu’s friends Vaibhav and Arvind will also be part of the film. But there is no official update yet.
Talking about the movie, Thalapathy 68 is helmed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Archana Kalpathi under the banner of AGS Entertainment. According to reports, the makers have already started shooting for the film. It began with a customary pooja in Chennai on October 2.
Meanwhile, Thalapathy Vijay’s latest film, Leo, was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Seven Screen Studio. Apart from Vijay, the movie also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Trisha, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Madonna Sebastian, George Maryan, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand, and Mathew Thomas. Leo is the third instalment in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe and is inspired by A History of Violence (2005), an adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name.
