After contrasting starts to their IPL 2024, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings lock horns in the sixth match of the season. RCB played title holders Chennai Super Kings in the opening clash but tasted defeat. On the other hand, PBKS clash with Delhi Capitals and recorded a close four-wicket win.
RCB suffered a batting collapse and were rescued by their lower order with the pair of Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik dragging them to a competitive total. RCB skipper Faf du Plessis made a rapid start before Mustafizur Rahman struck twice in an over to trigger the slide. Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell failed to open their accounts while Virat Kohli looked a bit rusty too.
PBKS though made a better start, limiting DC to 174/9 before chasing it down in 19.2 overs despite a late stutter. PBKS were a bit lucky with DC dropping two catches including that of Sam Curran who went onto make a match-winning half-century.
