KL Rahul Snatches a Hard-Earned Diving Stunner to Dismiss Bangladesh's Mushfiqur Rahim - WATCH
KL Rahul pulled off a stunner of a catch to dismiss Mushfiqur Rahim for Ashwin's third scalp of the day, as Bangladesh went down four wickets on Day 3 of the 1st Test.

It’s a day of brilliance from the Indians yet again, as KL Rahul pulled off a stunner of a catch to dismiss Mushfiqur Rahim on the third day of India’s first Test against Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday.

After a treacherous onslaught from the likes of both centurions Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant, Bangladesh were sent out to chase down a mammoth total of 515.

After getting off to a confident start with openers Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam, who notched a 50-run stand, Jasprit Bumrah broke through with a delectable swinger to remove Hasan, sparking the beginning of a seeming end for the visitors.

The stage was then set for hometown hero Ravichandran Ashwin who, in classic fashion, began to weave magic with the ball, bamboozling the Bangladesh batters as he picked off both Islam and Mominul Haque in fairly quick succession initally.

The spin wizard definitely was aided by his teammates with their sensational fielding ability. And it was showcased in full effect by KL Rahul especially who pulled off a stunner to dismiss Mushfiqur Rahim for Ashwin’s third scalp of the day.

Rahul pulled off a superb forward-diving catch at mid-on after Mushfiqur went down the track to attack Ashwin’s tempter, only to sky it high.

Rahul, who chased it hard, dived forward and took the catch with the fingers under the ball, just about salvaging the wicket as the call went up to the third umpire and still stood upon review.

Shakib Al Hasan would take to the crease next, but the day’s play would come to a halt soon due to bad light, as Bangladesh stood at 158/4, needing 357 runs to win with 6 wickets left.

The biggest stars of the day so far would be none other than comeback man Rishabh Pant (109 off 128 balls) and Shubman Gill (119* off 176 balls), who were the chief architects of India’s domination in the second innings as they declared at 287 for four.
