Scotland opener Michael Jones sent the fans into a frenzy as he smashed English pacer Chris Jordan for a six that went on to break a solar panel at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Wednesday in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 match between the sides.

Jones smashed the pacer for a maximum as he pulled the ball over square leg and hit the solar panel on the roof.

Scotland opted to bat after winning the coin toss and got off to a brilliant start to the innings as openers Jones and Geroge Munsey put up 49 runs in the powerplay overs, before bringing up their fifty-run partnership two deliveries later.

The openers did well to hold on to their wickets against the vastly experienced English unit as they negotiated well with the seam attack Jos Buttler opted for early in the innings.

Rain stopped play right after the Scotsmen brought up the landmark score and the teams were forced to return to their respective dressing rooms until further notice.

Scotland managed to make 90 runs for no loss in 10 overs after the game was truncated. But, the officials took the call to abandon the game before England could come out to chase the revised target. Both teams ended up sharing the points on offer.
