'Suryanamaskar': Gujarat Titans Shares a Witty Post With Suryakumar Yadav to Celebrate Yoga Day
On International Yoga Day, Gujarat Titans shared a witty post that has a connection to the star Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav.

Indian Premier League franchise (IPL) Gujarat Titans have shared a witty post on Suryakumar Yadav amid International Yoga Day celebrations. Suryakumar is currently in the Caribbean alongside the Indian Cricket Team for the T20 World Cup 2024. Just yesterday, June 20, the T20I specialist scored a rapid fast fifty, guiding India to a victory against Afghanistan in the Super Eight. While Suryakumar continues to make records at the ICC event, Gujarat ensured to highlight the importance of today’s occasion. They shared a picture of the Indian batting star on X while converting his first name to a yoga pose ‘Suryanamaskar’. “Best way to star International Yoga Day,” the franchise wrote.

In the uploaded picture, Suryakumar Yadav can be seen donning India’s official T20 World Cup 2024 jersey. The batter could be seen waving towards the crowd while lifting his bat in the air. As for International Yoga Day, Suryakumar isn’t the only one inspiring people to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle. India ex-cricket Yuvraj Singh also shared a post on social media showcasing how he was celebrating the occasion.

In the picture, the 2007 T20 World Cup winner can be seen performing some exercises with his son. Yuvraj was rocking a dark grey round-neck and a pair of white shorts. Whereas, the little one was all smiles as he performed exercises in the Indian jersey.

Coming back to India’s performance in Barbados yesterday, Suryakumar stole the show at the Kensington Oval with his 28-ball 53 knock. The Indian batter smashed five fours and three sixes in the match. He built a partnership with Hardik Pandya to help India amass an 181-run total in the first innings. The second half saw Jasprit Bumrah devour Afghanistan’s top order to give India an early advantage. He finished the game with three wickets, curbing Afghanistan at 134.

Following the India versus Afghanistan clash, the fans were also treated to Suryakumar Yadav’s humour after he was mistaken for Mohammed Siraj. In the post-match conference, a journalist accidentally addressed Suryakumar as his bowling compatriot. However, the Indian batter took it quite sportingly and gave a golden answer. He said, “Siraj toh nahi hai..Siraj bhai khana khaa rahe hain [Siraj is not here, Siraj’s brother is having food].”
