David Warner shared a couple of photos in which he could be seen shaking hands with a young kid who looks at the cricketer in awe.

Delhi Capitals opener David Warner has once again won hearts on the internet by having a golden moment with a couple of ball boys. During an IPL fixture between the Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals on May 7, Warner was spotted having a few words with two ball boys near the boundary line after not making the playing XI.

The Aussie batter has now shared a couple of pictures on Instagram, talking about the warm interaction. In the first photograph, Warner can be seen shaking hands with a young kid who looks at the cricketer in awe. The second picture sees Warner seated beside another ball boy who seems to be having a fun chat with the Aussie opening icon.

“It’s been great to speak to the young kids who help us retrieve the balls when hit to the boundary. The passion they have for our game is amazing. Love seeing the smiles on their faces. Thanks for all your help,” the caption of the post read.

David Warner has been one of IPL’s old guards since making his debut in 2009. The Aussie has played 183 games in the T20 extravaganza, scoring 6564 runs. As for the 2024 season, Warner has struggled to find his usual form, scoring just 167 runs in seven matches. This led to him being benched during Delhi Capitals’ crucial fixture against a formidable-looking Rajasthan Royals.

However, Warner’s absence didn’t prove to be a major missing for the Rishabh Pant-led side as the 2020 finalists beat Rajasthan by 20 runs. Kuldeep Yadav picked up the Player of the Match award for his bowling figures of 2/25.

The Delhi Capitals are now in fifth place with six wins in 12 games. They will now be looking to win their remaining couple of games for a chance at the playoffs. Delhi will face a Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru next on May 12. The match will be hosted at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium this weekend.
