It will be a ‘Pink Promise’ match where Sanju Samson & Co will sport a traditional pink jersey to support women-led transformation in Rajasthan.

The Royals uploaded a video clip of their meet-up on Instagram, captioning, “An evening in Jaipur!” An ever-energetic Kohli could be seen hugging Ashwin while Chahal reunites with his former teammates, sharing a few words with Maxwell and Mohammad Siraj.

The upcoming clash between Rajasthan Royals and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru also carries some social significance. To show their support for the women of their state, Rajasthan players will don special all-pink matchday kits in today’s match. The franchise also mentioned on their official site that they would donate a certain amount from every ticket purchased for the clash towards rural development for women.
“The Royals will donate ₹100 for women-led rural transformation in Rajasthan on every RR vs RCB ticket purchased for this match. Apart from that, all proceeds from the sale of each all-pink Royals jersey will go to its social equity arm – the Royal Rajasthan Foundation. In addition, for every 6 hits during the match by both teams, Rajasthan Royals and the Royal Rajasthan Foundation will light up 6 homes in the Sambhar region with solar power,” they wrote.
The Sanju Samson-led squad are currently undefeated in the ongoing campaign with three wins in as many games. Rajasthan began their season with a 20-run victory over the Lucknow Super Giants.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru, on the other hand, haven’t quite sailed with an ideal start under Faf du Plessis’ leadership. They lost their season opener to the Chennai Super Kings followed by defeats to the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Lucknow Super Giants. Their only victory of the campaign came in their second T20 game against the Punjab Kings by four wickets.
