Virat Kohli, along with other members of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team, has reached Chennai where they will play their opening match of the IPL 2024.

The Faf du Plessis-led side will clash against defending champions Chennai Super Kings in the season opener on Friday, March 22. The visiting side arrived at Chepauk on Tuesday night after attending the RCB Unbox event in Bengaluru where the franchise also celebrated Smriti Mandhana and Co.’s maiden Women’s Premier League (WPL) title.

On Wednesday, the RCB players were seen undergoing an evening training session at the M A Chidambaram Stadium.

During the practice session, Kohli spotted two kids standing on the sidelines with some of the coaching staff.

Kohli, who recently became a father of a baby boy, stopped instantly and began entertaining the kids.

A clip of the cute exchange has gone viral on social media.

Kohli, Du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell also unveiled RCB’s iconic green jersey in Chennai. The team will wear the green kit in one of their group-league games, aiming to raise awareness about a cleaner environment. A hilarious moment featuring Du Plessis transpired at the jersey launch event.

The RCB captain was introducing the sponsor for their green kit when a party cracker suddenly burst.

Du Plessis was caught unawares and was left shocked by the sound. His reaction left his RCB teammates Kohli and Maxwell in splits.

Kohli owns many individual records of the IPL. He has been part of the RCB since the inaugural season but is yet to win the title.

Kohli will be desperate to achieve the long-standing dream this year and bring the first IPL trophy to his decorated cabinet.
