The two stalwarts of Indian cricket – Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli – had underwhelming outings in the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai. Though the hosts are currently in a commanding position, Rohit and Kohli haven’t been at their best. The first innings saw both of them falling prey to young pacer Hasan Mahmud at an identical score of 6 runs. In India’s second essay, Rohit managed just 5 off 7 balls whereas Kohli scored 17 off 37.
Their below-par performances have led to a fan war on social media. The admirers of Rohit Sharma were seen trolling Kohli for scoring just 6 runs in the first innings. In reply, the Kohli fans took a jibe at the Indian captain for getting out for just 5 runs in the second innings.
Take a look at the banter:
Dear Virat Kohli,I respect you a lot and love you but as an honest Indian cricket fan I believe you should consider giving up your No 4 spot for the betterment of the team. You struggle to bat in test match and pick the length so it might be better to retire with dignity. pic.twitter.com/RO1gP0iz7x

Here’s how the fans of Virat Kohli responded to the post on Friday:

The fan war continued on the second day of the Test match as well, despite India taking a healthy 308-run lead in the second innings.
Earlier, Jasprit Bumrah’s artistry seemed incomprehensible for an out-of-sorts Bangladesh batting line-up as India took complete control of the opening Test. Bumraj (4/50) once again worked his magic in the company of Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep (2/19) and Ravindra Jadeja as Bangladesh were all-out for a paltry 149 in their first innings in reply to India’s 376.
