Australia

Australia is very popular among Indian students. According to government figures, at least 1.09 Indian students were studying here in the year 2022. The number of Indian students studying here is continuously increasing. In the year 2019, 73808 students went to Australia to study. However, due to the Covid pandemic, this number reduced to 33629 in 2020 and 8950 in 2021.

Recently, the Australian government announced that international students would now be required to have high scores in English proficiency tests such as IELTS, TOEFL and Duolingo English Test. Now the IELTS score for temporary visa has been increased from 6.0 to 6.5. Whereas for student visa it has been increased from 5.5 to 6.0

United KIngdom/Britain

Based on the findings of the Immigration Advisory Committee study, Britain has declared that over 7.50 lakh students in the nation enrol in independent and language schools annually to pursue higher education and other courses. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has reduced immigration as a result of this. This includes the declaration that it is forbidden for overseas students to bring their families to the United Kingdom. In order to relocate family to the United Kingdom, they must pursue a postgraduate degree. A student’s visa cannot be changed into a work visa until their studies are finished. The cost of a visa has also been raised by Britain to Rs 51,787.

Canada

Beginning on December 1, 2023, the government of Canada has mandated that Post Secondary Nominated Learning Institutes verify each applicant’s acceptance letter directly with IRCC. In addition, starting on January 1, 2024, the minimum amount for foreign students residing in Canada has risen from 10,000 Canadian dollars to 20,635 Canadian dollars.

France

According to the new guidelines, the French government has now increased the two-year post study visa to five years. The government has said that students who have spent even one semester in the country for Master’s or above studies can now avail of a five-year short arm Schengen visa and also look for job opportunities.

Ireland

The Irish government will now give a two-year post study visa. This means that foreign students completing master’s degrees will now be able to stay here for two years,. whereas PhD holders can stay for three years.

Italy

Indian students pursuing graduation in Italy will now be able to stay here for an additional 12 months. According to government data, a total of 5,897 Indian students were present in Italy on study visa in 2022

United States Of America

The USA had announced new rules last year to curb fraudulency in student immigration. Students who are seeking for F, M, and J student visas have been advised to create profiles and make appointments using the information from their passports. The visa application centre will deny your request if you arrive for your appointment with the incorrect passport number.
