The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) is set to open up vacancies for candidates who successfully clear the Combined Graduate Level (4) Exam, a nationwide examination aimed at recruiting individuals for Group B and Group C positions in various Government of India departments. State Chief Secretary Amir Subhani recently conducted a meeting with Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, and District Magistrates of all departments via video conferencing. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary instructed all departments to submit their requisitions and gather information from BSSC regarding the preparations for the CGL exam.

Preparations for the CGL examination are underway, with the General Administration Department and Bihar Staff Selection Commission collaborating on the initiative. Upon receiving requisitions detailing the vacancies from districts and departments, the authorities will proceed with the next steps for conducting the Combined Graduate Level (4) Exam.

In November 2023, the General Administration Department requested information about vacant graduate-level positions from all departments and districts. While Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, and District Magistrates were directed to provide details of vacancies, some departments did not comply with these instructions.

As of now, the exact number of vacancies remains unclear, but estimates suggest that it could range between 2500 to 2700 positions. The notification from the Bihar Staff Selection Commission will provide information on vacancies for unreserved, other backward castes, scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and economically weaker sections.

The tentative exam date for BSSC CGL is expected to be in June or July 2024, with exams conducted across Bihar in each district. The exam will be administered in offline mode, with a duration of 2 hours and 15 minutes.

For eligibility, candidates applying online for the exam must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a UGC-recognized institution. The graduation must be completed from a university recognised by the University Grants Commission.

The initiation of the BSSC CGL recruitment process signifies an important opportunity for candidates seeking government positions, and further details, including the specific number of vacancies and the official notification, will be available in the upcoming announcements from the Bihar Staff Selection Commission.

This development aims to streamline the recruitment process and provide opportunities for qualified individuals to contribute to various government departments.
