The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced the extension of the last day to apply for PhD, B.Sc.Nursing, and B.Ed courses for the January 2024 session. Applicants now have until January 3, 2024, to send in their applications. Students should be aware that they must submit their applications and a Rs. 200 late charge in addition to their applications. Candidates are invited to apply online at ignou.ac.in, IGNOU’s official website.
The IGNOU entrance exam registration for the January 2024 session began on December 12, and the previous deadline was December 31.
Candidates for the BEd programme must hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the social sciences, humanities or sciences with a minimum overall grade point average of 50 per cent.
Those interested in pursuing a PhD at IGNOU must be postgraduates with at least a 55 per cent grade in the relevant field of study. Candidates from the economically disadvantaged, disabled, OBC, SC, and ST categories are eligible for a 5 per cent grade reduction.
The IGNOU January 2024 session Entrance Exam will take place at many test venues within the country on January 7, 2024. The exam will span two hours for applicants taking the BEd course, 2.5 hours for those in the BSc programme, and three hours for those in the PhD programme.

Interested candidates may apply by following the instructions below:
Step 1: Go to ignou.ac.in, the IGNOU’s official website.
Step 3: Select the “Extension of last date for Submission of Online Application Form for Entrance Test of Ph.D. (For July 2023 Session), B.Sc. Nursing & B. Ed. (For January 2024 Session)” link found on the homepage.
Step 4: After a new page loads, applicants must register to continue with the application.
Step 5: Once completed, log in to your account, fill out the application form, and pay the application fee.
Step 6: Download the IGNOU entrance exam application form for the January 2024 session and save a printed copy in case you need it later.
Furthermore, during the PhD admissions procedure, the entrance exam will account for 70 per cent of the weightage, with the interview round accounting for the remaining 30 per cent.
