The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TN TRB) has deferred the deadline for candidates to register themselves for direct recruitment to various assistant professors’ vacancies in the Tamil Nadu Collegiate Educational Service. Interested candidates who have not yet applied for the above-mentioned vacancies can fill out the TN TRB application form 2024 by visiting the official website at trb.tn.gov.in. Earlier, the deadline for the registration process was April 29; however, it has now been extended until May 15.

Under the TN TRB recruitment drive, the board is aiming to fill a total of 4,000 assistant professors at Government Arts, Science Colleges, and Government Colleges of Education in Tamil Nadu. The TN TRB examination is likely to be held on August 4.

TN TRB Recruitment 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: To be eligible, candidates must have a Master’s degree with a minimum of 55 per cent marks (or an equivalent grade) in a relevant subject from a recognised institution/university.

Age Limit: Applicants applying for the position of Assistant Professor in Tamil Nadu’s government colleges should not be below 57 years of age as of July 1, 2024.

TN TRB Recruitment 2024: How To Apply?

Step 1: Visit the official portal of TRB, TN at trb.tn.gov.in.

Step 2: Under TRB TN Assistant Professor Recruitment 2024 on the home page, find and click on the Recruitment link.

Step 3: A new screen will be displayed where you will be required to enter your personal details.

Step 4: Then, register yourself and proceed with the application form.

Step 5: Fill out the form with academic and personal details and make the payment.

Step 6: Once done, submit the form and keep a copy of the confirmation pay for further use.

TN TRB Recruitment 2024: Exam Pattern, Passing Marks

Talking about the written examination pattern, candidates will be provided with two papers, collectively accounting for 200 marks. The primary paper is divided into two segments, each worth 100 marks. Section A, which will be conducted for a duration of one hour, involves 50 compulsory questions, with 25 dedicated to the Tamil language and the remaining 25 to general knowledge, with a focus on current affairs. However, Section B of the primary paper consists of eight descriptive questions, where candidates must choose and respond to five questions, each carrying a weight of 10 marks, based on their chosen subjects.

Likewise, the second paper encompasses two sections: Section A, which consists of 50 multiple-choice questions for one mark each and must be finished within an hour, and Section B, which gives candidates a two-hour window to answer any five of eight questions worth ten marks. In addition to that, shortlisted candidates will have to undergo a 30-mark interview round.

Candidates falling under the general category have to score at least 40 per cent marks to qualify for the exam. While applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Class (OBC) categories, will have to score a minimum 30 per cent.
