The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) is gearing up to announce the Madhyamik result or Class 10th result of the 2023-24 batch today, May 2. Once the result is released, students who appeared in the class 10th examination this year can access the official website to check and download their marksheet at wbchse.wb.gov.in. The Madhyamik examination 2024 was conducted between February 2 to February 12. As per the reports, around 8.76 lakh students across the state appeared in the class 10 examination.

Ahead of WBBSE releasing the Madhyamik result of 2024, let us take a closer look at the passing percentage of Class 10th students over the past few years.

West Bengal Madhyamik Result 2024: Pass Percentage Over The Years

In 2023, the Class 10th results were announced on May 19 wherein the overall pass percentage stood at 86.15 per cent. Out of the total 6,82,321 students who appeared in the examination, 5,65,428 candidates passed the West Bengal Madhyamik exam.

Earlier in 2022, the total number of students who appeared in the West Bengal Madhyamik examination was 10,98,775 while 9,49,927 out of the total students secured the exam. The overall passing percentage of 2022 stood at 86.60 per cent.

In 2021, a total of 10,79,749 students were slated to appear for the examination however, due to the COVID pandemic situation across the country, the board cancelled the examination and scored the students as per their previous performances in academics. Given the conditions, a 100 per cent of pass percentage was recorded in the state.

In 2020, the total number of students in the West Bengal Madhyamik examination was 10,35,666 while 8,43,305 passed the same. The overall pass percentage was recorded at 86.34 per cent.

In 2019, the total number of students who appeared in the West Bengal Madhyamik examination was 10,50,397. The overall pass percentage in 2019 was 86.07 per cent.

How to check the West Bengal Madhyamik Result 2024?

Step 1: Visit the official website of the West Bengal State Board at wbresults.nic.in or wbchse.wb.gov.in.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Class 10th result’ link on the home page.

Step 3: Log in with the roll number and date of birth.

Step 4: The results will appear on the screen.

Step 5: Check and download the result and later keep a hard copy of the same for future reference.

To successfully pass the WB 10th exams, students need to score at least 34 per cent marks. This means, that out of the total of 800 marks, candidates need to achieve a minimum of 272 marks.
