Aryan Khan’s debut directorial is already making a lot of noise. Titled Stardom, it reportedly stars Kill fame Lakshya and is said to be a fictionalised account of the Hindi film industry. It’s set to be a star-studded affair with Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, Bobby Deol, and Badshah, among others, making interesting cameos in each episode. Mona Singh will also play a central role in Aryan’s maiden web series. And now, we bring you an exclusive update on the show.
A little birdie tells News18 Showsha that apart from Shah Rukh, another superstar will also be a part of Stardom. “Aryan has roped in Salman Khan to grace one of the episodes of his series. The actor has already wrapped up filming his part. While both the superstars will most probably not be sharing screen space in the show, it will definitely be exciting for both of their fans to see their favourite stars collaborate on the former’s son’s debut project,” the source says.
Shah Rukh and Salman had first worked together in Rakesh Roshan’s 1995 film, Karan Arjun, where they played siblings. They went on to appear in films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, where Shah Rukh played the lead. Following a fallout, Shah Rukh reunited with Salman by making a special appearance in Salman’s Tubelight. Salman joined Shah Rukh for the song Issaqbaazi in Zero. And after Pathaan and Tiger 3, the duo will be headlining the rumoured Tiger Vs Pathaan film.
The source further adds, “It was a no-brainer for Salman when he was offered a cameo in Stardom. Salman shares a great bond with Shah Rukh and his family. And so, it took him no time to say a yes to Aryan.” At the opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre last year, pictures of the Dabangg star striking a pose with Shah Rukh’s family – Gauri Khan, Suhana Khan and Aryan – went viral.
Earlier, we had reported that on the first day of the series’ shoot, Shah Rukh visited the set and that a major portion of the six-episodic web series was filmed in Dharma Productions which was frequented by Shah Rukh and Gauri during the shoot. On a related note, Aryan has also written Stardom and is the showrunner. Last year, Aryan directed his father for a commercial for a luxury streetwear brand named D’Yavol X where he also shared screen space with him.
Speaking about his collaboration with Shah Rukh on the commercial, Aryan told Harper’s Bazaar, “Working with my father is never challenging because with his experience and dedication, he makes everyone’s job easier on set. He also makes the entire crew feel at ease and has tremendous respect for everyone. When he’s on set, I always make sure to pay extra attention, so I don’t miss out on anything I can learn.”
