When the film industry was still recovering from the losses it incurred during the Covid-19 pandemic, Kartik Aaryan, Tabu and Kiara Advani starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 stood out and became one of the first films to put an end to the box office lull in 2022. Needless to say, the audience’s expectations are sky-high from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The shoot of the film is currently underway and it will see the return of Vidya Balan as the original Majulika. Apart from her, it also stars Kartik, Triptii Dimri and Madhuri Dixit Nene.
In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Kartik says that he’s having a whale of a time shooting for it. “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 ka shoot superb jaa raha hai. It’s a super fun film. But of late, it has been very hectic because I’ve been filming some important portions of the film. I had to do those scenes during the release of Chandu Champion. That also made it a little hectic. But overall, I’ve been really enjoying the whole process,” he tells us.
The one challenge he, however, faced on the sets of the horror-comedy is to constantly make sure that he doesn’t end up hamming. “When I resumed shoot for it post Chandu Champion, on the first day, I was constantly asking myself ki main zyada toh nahi kar raha hoon? The sur of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is very different. I went around asking everyone on set if I was performing too much. This happened because, in Chandu Champion, I had to keep things a notch higher. But then I got used to it,” Kartik recalls.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will mark Kartik’s first-ever collaboration with Vidya. A while back, Kartik was seen attending the premiere of Do Aur Do Pyaar rooting for her. After the screening of Chandu Champion, pictures of Vidya and Kartik chatting with and hugging each other went viral too. She also took to social media and wrote, “Big congratulations to Kartik, Kabir, and the entire team of Chandu Champion. I cannot even imagine the kind of hard work that went into the film, but I felt it showed in every frame. What a story! Oh my god!”
Quiz him about their camaraderie and the 33-year-old shares, “I’m really enjoying working with Vidya ma’am. I’m truly having a gala time. She watched Chandu Champion. The way she reacted to it was so special. She actually made a video for the film talking about how much she liked it. She met, called and messaged me as well.”
Lauding her, the Satyaprem Ki Katha and Luka Chuppi actor adds, “She spoke to Kabir (Khan) sir also. She’s very expressive and I really like that quality about her. When the trailer was released, she told me that she loved it and she would go and watch it even it alone even if Siddharth (Roy Kapur) sir isn’t in town. And she actually came and watched our film alone because he was travelling somewhere at that time.”
