Malayalam Star Samyuktha To Pack Solid Punches Alongside Kajol in Maharagni: 'I'm thrilled' | Exclusive

Maharagni: Queen Of Queens has emerged as one of the most highly awaited releases of the year. It sees Kajol and Prabhu Deva reuniting onscreen 27 years after Minsara Kanavu (also known as Sapnay in Hindi). The teaser of Maharagni has grabbed a lot of attention and presents Kajol in a never-seen-before-action avatar beating up the bad guys and making an entry like a quintessential and larger-than-life South hero.

Touted to be a high-budget action thriller, the star-studded spectacle also features Naseeruddin Shah, Jisshu Sengupta, Chhaya Kadam and Aditya Seal, and now popular Malayalam actor Samyuktha has exclusively confirmed to News18 Showsha that she indeed is also a part of Maharagni. Interestingly, the film marks Samyuktha’s Bollywood debut and she reveals that she will also be seen engaging in some high-octane action sequences in the film.

Talking about it, she exclusively tells us, “When Charan (Tej Uppalapati), the director of Maharagni narrated the script to me, I was thrilled by the idea of elevation scenes and action sequences in mainstream Hindi cinema being written for two female leads. The opportunity to work alongside Kajol ma’am made it even more exciting for me.”

For the unversed, Samyuktha began her acting journey with a Malayalam film titled Popcorn that was released in 2016. Over the years, she went onto become a force to be reckoned and has earned the moniker of one of the highest-paid actors in the Malayalam film industry. She has worked alongside actors like Dulquer Salmaan, Tovino Thomas, Pawan Kalyan, Dhanush and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Some of her commercially successful films include Kalki, Bheemla Nayak (2022), Vaathi and Virupaksha, among others.

As for Maharagni, it is being billed as a pan-India film which will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages. The film is being produced by Harman Baweja and Venkata Anish Dorigillu under the labels of Baweja Studios and E7 Entertainments. Speaking about it, Harman in a statement had said, “We are excited to collaborate with Eternal 7 and have an extraordinary cast… Kajol’s talent and authenticity make her perfect for this role. At Baweja Studios, we believe in telling powerful stories, and I am thrilled to bring this project to life with such a stellar team.”
