New Delhi: The All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) Executive Committee meets on Friday morning and a number of key decisions are likely to be taken.
The top priority of the meeting would be to come out with a plan for the national team as to where they shall train and travel for their annual summer tour.
The two likely destinations are thought to be Portugal and Spain.
The Indian FA are also expected to have another discussion on the famed Goal 2011 programme and how they can implement it in the best possible manner.
Mohun Bagan had launched scathing attack on national coach Bob Houghton for opining on the club’s personal matter with Bhaichung Bhutia and branding the club’s actions as ‘inane’ which they believe, has caused a damage to their reputation. The meeting is expected to take up this matter and come up with a decision.
It is also believed that the ‘3+1’ rule introduced by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) would be put into place from the next season. Apart from the three foreigners, the clubs shall be allowed to have one Asian player as well thus taking their foreigners tally to four.
AIFF general secretary, Alberto Colaco, is likely to resign before the Executive Committee but whether it might be accepted immediately or not is another matter.
