FA charge Balotelli for stamp on Parker
Mario Balotelli faces a four-game ban after his stamp on Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker.

Manchester: Manchester City's Mario Balotelli has been charged by the FA with violent conduct and faces a four-game ban after his stamp on Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker.

The second-half substitute went on to score the winning penalty in the 3-2 victory for the home side at the Etihad Stadium.

The ban could see the Italian striker miss Wednesday's Carling Cup semi-final second leg at Anfield, along with Premier League games against Aston Villa, Everton and Fulham.

Balotelli could appeal the decision, but could also see the ban extended if the FA panel deems it a frivolous move. The FA has now given Balotelli until 6pm on Wednesday to respond to the charge.

Meanwhile, Joleon Lescott has escaped any punishment for his clash with Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul earlier in the game.
