Germany lock horns with Portugal on June 9 in their Euro 2012 opener.

Munich: Joachim Low has insisted that Germany still have to improve in the wake of their 2-0 friendly win over Israel on Thursday. The national team coach was generally pleased with his side's performance after they had lost their previous match 5-3 against Switzerland, but he was adamant that they need to be better if they are to have success this summer.

"It was a pretty decent final test, this will give us some momentum. Not everything ran smoothly, but taking a victory into next week will do us good," Low stated at a press conference.

"We still have to improve and work on finishing our chances, the organisation was better, but there is still much to do."

The Mannschaft boss then went on to discuss the fitness of Bastian Schweinsteiger, and stated that the midfielder is set to resume training. "Bastian has been pain-free since Wednesday. Now he has to start running and he will train with the team again by Tuesday at the latest."
