Milan: Napoli playmaker Marek Hamsik has opened the door to an AC Milan move, despite denials from the champions they have an interest in him, after revealing he could wear the red and black jersey in the future.
Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri admitted last week he was actively searching for a top-level midfielder to replace Andrea Pirlo, who left for Juventus.
Goal.com then revealed that Milan will have a budget of around 50 million euros to spend on transfers, which could include Hamsik for the midfield role.
And, the 23-year-old Slovakia international has, for the first time, said he would be keen to wear the champions' shirt.
"It's hard to predict when I will leave. Going to Milan would be a big step in my career as I am still young and I have not won anything," he said, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
"I am happy with the praise from [Adriano] Galliani and Allegri."
Despite the links with the San Siro outfit, Hamsik reminded fans he is still happy at Napoli.
"I am fine here and I have been at Napoli for four years. I think it's time I won something, but for now they are [Milan reports] just rumours, nothing more and there is nothing concrete."
Last week Galliani said Milan were not interested in Hamsik, while Aurelio De Laurentiis has often maintained his side have no intention of selling him.
