Turin: Juventus coach Antonio Conte has signed a new three-year deal with the Serie A champions that will keep him with the club until 2015.
Conte, a former Juventus captain, took over last summer from Luigi Delneri, who failed to take Juventus into the Europa League with a seventh-place finish in the Italian league.
The 42-year-old Conte led Juventus to the league title this season and reached the Italian Cup final.
Juventus were unbeaten in the league, but lost to Napoli in the Italian Cup.
"It's obviously a great day," Conte said. "Because my dream continues, after a year of working. Certainly it's a great show of admiration that fills me with pride and happiness and definitely pushes me to try to definitely do better."
"In May last year, the club's intentions were clear; it wanted to create a project, to build year on year something that would take us back to the top, like Juventus were in the past. We managed this year to win the league, next year there will be a new challenge in Europe, where we will have to try to consolidate what we have done well in Italy this year."
Conte previously coached Siena, whom he guided to promotion to Serie A in his last season. It was the second time he led a team into the top-flight, after Bari were promoted in 2009.
Conte played for Juventus from 1991 until he retired in 2004 and scored 44 goals in 419 games. He was part of the team that won the 1996 Champions League, the 1993 UEFA Cup and five Serie A titles.
Conte was also in the Italy squad that reached the final of the 1994 World Cup and scored one of his two international goals on the way to Italy finishing the 2000 European Championship second.
