Man City loans out Bellamy to Cardiff

Cardiff, Wales: Craig Bellamy has joined second-tier Cardiff on a season-long loan after being frozen out by big-spending Manchester City.

One of Manchester City's key players last season, the 31-year-old striker has fallen out with manager Roberto Mancini. New Premier League rules also left no space for him in the 25-man squad that City must name by September 1.

The Wales captain could make his debut for hometown club Cardiff against Doncaster in the League Championship on Saturday.

Bellamy said he has already turned down the chance to join German club Wolfsburg in the off-season.
