Real Madrid Targeting Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold This Transfer Window: Report

Real Madrid have reportedly made some ‘concrete’ moves for Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. The English international recently entered his final year of contract at Anfield, sparking interest from some of the biggest clubs.

It has also been reported that Alexander-Arnold is open to a move away from Liverpool.

Amid the drama surrounding Alexander-Arnold’s transfer, a now-viral post shared on X (formerly Twitter) claimed that Los Blancos are now looking to sign Alexander-Arnold.

“Just In: Real Madrid is making moves for Trent Alexander-Arnold. The player is interested, and there has been contact for months,” read the post.

Bild journalist Christian Falk also made a similar claim on X. In his post, Falk said that Liverpool are yet to offer a contract extension to Trent Alexander-Arnold. He wrote, “Real Madrid is getting concrete with Trent Alexander-Arnold (25). Arnold has a contract till 2025, no contract extension at Liverpool yet. The player is interested, there is contact since last month.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold rose through the ranks at the Liverpool academy. He proved to be a key player for Jurgen Klopp over the years winning several titles under the German manager. With Jurgen Klopp’s departure from the Premier League giants this season, it seems like the England right-back wants a change in his career as well.

Since making his debut in the 2016-17 campaign, Trent Alexander-Arnold has made 310 appearances for Liverpool. In these matches, the English right-back has notched 19 goals and some key assists. Known for being a vital playmaker, Alexander-Arnold has stepped up in crucial situations for the club. He has won eight trophies with Liverpool, including a Champions League crown in 2019 and the Premier League in 2020. He has also won trophies like FA Cup and Carabao Cup at the Merseyside-based outfit.

Trent Alexander-Arnold also played a significant role in the Euro 2024 for England. He was a key player for Gareth Southgate, helping England to make a second-consecutive European final. England eventually faltered against Spain in the Euro 2024 final, losing 2-1.
