The 39-year-old has stated that he intends to honour his contract with current club Molde, also insisting that he was not offered the Villa job after 'informal' talks.
"I have not had any offers," he told reporters. "I'm not looking for another job. In football, and in life in general, things turn up that you have to make decisions about. I have a contract for two more years and I'll stand by that."

He then had a short spell as United's reserve team coach before returning to his former club Molde as first-team boss, where he led his old club to their first-ever league trophy.

He has previously spoken of his desire to manage Manchester United one day, having left the a role as the club's reserve team boss to take up the position in Norway.
Following the Norwegian's announcement, Norwich City boss Paul Lambert is now the favourite to take over at Villa Park, although a number of other names remain in the running as well, with the West Midlands outfit continuing their hunt for Alex McLeish's replacement.
