Can You Use Afterpay on Expedia? Everything You Need to Know
Did you know that you can use Afterpay with some Expedia bookings? That's right! You can pay for your Expedia trip with four payments over 6 weeks, instead of all at once. Read on to learn how to book a trip with Expedia and pay with Afterpay.
Using Afterpay with Expedia

What is Expedia Afterpay?

Use Afterpay on Expedia to book now, pay later. Instead of paying the full amount of your trip now, you can spread it out into four manageable payments over 6 weeks with 0 interest. This makes traveling more affordable and budget-friendly for Expedia customers! You must be 18 or older, a resident of the U.S., and meet additional eligibility criteria to use Afterpay on Expedia. Loans through the Afterpay Pay Monthly program are underwritten and issued by the First Electronic Bank. A down payment may be required. Loans are subject to credit check and approval and are not available in all states. Valid debit card and acceptance of final terms required to apply. Estimated payment amounts shown on product pages exclude taxes and shipping charges, which are added at checkout.

Using Expedia Afterpay

Open Afterpay in a web browser or with the mobile app. You can go to the Afterpay website from your desktop or in your mobile web browser. Alternatively, you can open the app on your phone or tablet.

Enter Expedia in the search bar. You'll see a bar that says, "Search brands, products, and stores" in the top right corner of the page. Press Enter to start the search.

Click the first search result that says Expedia. A new window or tab will open with Expedia, and an Afterpay banner will appear at the top of the new page.

Search for your trip. You can search for "Stays," "Flights," "Cars," "Packages," or "Things to do." Once you enter the appropriate information, like when you're arriving (or checking in) and when you're departing (or checking out), click Search to find appropriate search results for your query. Click a search result to see more about it, then continue to select more options as needed (like Economy or Business class for flights or room accommodations for hotel stays).

Select Pay with Afterpay. By default, Afterpay is selected as the payment method. If you go directly to Expedia's website, you may not see this option, as not every hotel accepts Afterpay. You'll need to log into your Afterpay account or Cash App account to continue with Afterpay, and then you'll see the option to split the payment into four smaller payments.

FAQ

Why can't I pay with Afterpay on Expedia? Not every retailer, including hotels, accepts Afterpay. Others have noted that OneKeyCash also doesn't work well with Afterpay, so it might be a better option to avoid signing into Expedia for OneKeyCash.

Can I use Afterpay to pay for a car rental? Potentially! You need to follow the steps to go to the Afterpay site, then search for Expedia, and search for car rentals to see the Afterpay option. You'll still need a credit card for the deposit, however. There might be additional fees, like tax, insurance, and underage driver fees, if you're not 25. You should call the rental company you intend to use to make sure everything on the Expedia site is correct.

How do I fix it when Afterpay is not an option on Expedia? You've most likely encountered this if you went directly to Expedia. You need to go to the Afterpay site and open Expedia from there to see the Afterpay option.

What travel sites take Afterpay? You can discover more travel sites through the Afterpay website. Other travel sites include Hotels.com and Priceline.

Can I pay for a hotel with Afterpay? When you go to the Expedia site through Afterpay.com, you'll be able to book some hotels. Not every hotel, however, accepts Afterpay.

Does Expedia accept Affirm? Yes. Select it as a payment option on the payment page. Affirm gives you the option to pay for your booking over months instead of weeks, like Afterpay.

Does Expedia have a limit for Afterpay? You can book up to $2,000 in travel expenses, including flights, hotels, and experiences. This limit may increase if you use Afterpay frequently and make payments on time.
