From Your Own Profile
Open Instagram and tap the profile icon. The profile icon is the outline of a person's head and shoulders at the bottom-right corner of the screen. This opens your profile. If you're using a computer, click your profile icon at the top-right and select Profile.
Tap Followers. You'll see this at the top of your profile along with the number of people following you.
Start typing the person's name or username into the Search field. It's at the top of the screen. As you type, a list of matching search results will appear. If you're using Instagram on a computer, you won't be able to search this list. If your Followers list is long and it's taking too long to scroll through, check from the other person's profile instead.
Find the person on the list. If the person you're searching for is following you, you'll see their profile on your Followers list.
From The Other Person's Profile
Open Instagram and tap the search icon. The search icon is the magnifying glass at the bottom of the screen. If you're using a computer, just click the Search field at the top of Instagram.
Type the person's name or username into the Search field. The Search field is at the top of the screen. A list of matching results will appear.
Tap the person's name to go to their profile. Now you'll see the person's latest posts.
Tap Following. It's near the top-right area of the screen along with the number of people the person is following. This opens a list of everyone the person follows. If the person's profile is private and you aren't following them, you won't be able to view their Following list. Check from your own profile to see if the person is following you.
Find your own name at the top of the list. If this person follows you on Instagram, you'll see your own name and profile link at the top of the list. If this person also follows hashtags, your profile will be just below the followed hashtags. If you don't follow the person, check what the "Follow" button on their profile says. If it says "Follow Back," it means that they already follow you.
