How to Enter a New Line on Reddit on iPhone or iPad

Entering a New Line

Open the Reddit app. It's the orange app with a white cartoon alien in the center. If you don't have the Reddit app you can download it from the App Store and sign in with your Reddit username and password.

Start a new text post or comment. Tap the speech bubble icon below the post you want to comment on and then tap the reply button, or to start a new text post: Tap "Post something interesting". Tap "TEXT" Tap "Share your thoughts" and type a title. Tap "Describe in more detail" to select the body of the post.

Type your first line. Start typing the message you want to post either in the new comment or in the body of the new text post you created.

Tap space twice after the first line. You have to enter two spaces to create a new line. If you type the two spaces too fast, the iPhone will auto-insert a period and you may have to erase it.

Tap ⏎ Return. It's the key on the bottom-right of the iPhone's keyboard.

Type the second line. For example, your typing should resemble the following; This is the first line. This is the second line.

Tap Post or Send. It's in the upper-right corner. This posts your text on Reddit and displays the final result. Your second line will display on the line just below the previous text.

Entering a New Paragraph

Open the Reddit app. It's the orange app with a white cartoon alien in the center. If you don't have the Reddit app you can download it from the App Store and sign in with your Reddit username and password.

Start a new text post or comment. Tap the speech bubble icon below the post you want to comment on and then tap the reply button, or to start a new text post simply tap Post something interesting and select Text from the menu.

Type your first line. Start typing the message you want to post either in the new comment or in the body of the new text post you created.

Press ⏎ Return twice. It's the key on the bottom-right of the keyboard.

Type your second line. For example, your typing should resemble the following; This is the first line. This is the second line.

Tap Post or Send. It's in the upper-right corner. This posts your text on Reddit and displays the final result. The second line will be displayed two lines below the first line.

Entering a Line Break

Type your first line. Start typing the message you want to post either in the new comment or in the body of the new text post you created.

Press ⏎ Return twice. It's the key on the bottom-right of the keyboard.

Type   and then ⏎ Return two more times. The code   is HTML code for a large blank space and will not show up in your post as anything. Then you can press the "return" key again two more times which basically allows you to stack two new paragraph lines together.

Type your second line. For example, your typing should resemble the following; This is the first line.   This is the second line.

Tap Post or Send. It's in the upper-right corner. This will post your text on Reddit and displays the final result. The second line will be displayed three lines below the first line.
